Upcoming DRG webinar

19 Oct 2017

Upcoming webinar: “Why do I need more reliable SIFs for my pipe stress analysis?”

DRG is hosting a free webinar on the need for more reliable SIFs en flexibilities for pipe stress analysis on November 1st – 4 pm CEST.

The SIFs and flexibilities in Appendix D of the ASME B31.3 are for use in the absence of more directly applicable data. The engineer is encouraged to use more reliable SIFs and flexibilities in their piping analysis. In this webinar the possible errors that results from using flexibilities and SIFs according to B31.3 Appendix D are discussed. It is shown that incorrect stiffness and SIFs of pipe fittings may greatly affect your stress results. An example where tank nozzle loads are underestimated greatly by inaccurate flexibilities in tees is provided. This webinar focusses on how errors related to inaccurate flexibitlies and SIFs can be prevented. In addition the tools discussed in this webinar help to generate a more reliable pipe stress model.
