New content BOSfluids training course

We are glad to announce that the BOSfluids course has been updated. The course has been restructured and expanded to provide insights on the latest version of the BOSfluids program.

The design of a cooling water system

Cooling water installations are designed to cool an installation in the event of a nearby fire. This can be necessary if the contents of a tank or pressure vessel are likely to expand with heat. We can use BOSfluids to perform hydraulic calculations of steady state flows in a cooling water system that includes many deluge nozzles (sprinklers).

BOSpulse 5.0: Extended vessel and orifice models

The latest BOSpulse release brings extended Surge Vessel and Orifice element types. The SurgeVessel element has been extended with support for specifying the gas pressure and volume at the time of installation.

BOSfluids 7.0: Support for building 2-D piping models

The ability to work with 3-D piping models has always been one of the fundam ental features of BOSfluids. This not only sets BOSfluids apart from similar software, but also makes it possible to obtain more accurate results, especially if the flow conditions of interest are affected by the geometry of the piping system.
