Jive becomes open source

6 Jan 2016

Jive is our C++ library that is aimed at solving partial differential equations. It has been used for more than a decade to develop state- of-the art numerical models and algorithms, including multi-scale models, XFEM models, Isogeometric models and space-time solution methods.

As of February the 1st this year Jive will become open source under the LGPL license. This means that you will be able to use Jive without a license and that you can download the source code of Jive at the new website www.jem-jive.com. This site will also become the new home of information related to Jive. In the future we also want to host some kind of forum at this site, and possibly also a repository with models, algorithms and applications based on Jive.

We hope that this change will help extend the Jive user community and increase the collaboration between its users. We are aware that this will not happen automatically, and we will therefore keep investing in the development of Jive, and, more importantly, in improving the accessibility of Jive.

We are looking forward to this new chapter in the existence of Jive.
