Alba B3 platform installed – DRG performed surge analysis

DRG performed a surge analysis of the complete Firewater piping system on Alba B3 platform. We modelled the piping system and used BOSfluids to determine the maximum and minimum pressures that might occur during the most critical upset scenarios. The considered upset scenarios were defined in detail and were related to opening and closure of monitors and hydrants and the start or tripping of the firewater pumps. Additionally, the unbalanced loads due to pressure surges were assessed in order to confirm that the supporting structure is very well capable to fulfill the required safety regulations.
