This new BOSpulse release changes the way in which some allowable limits are defined and applied. One change concerns the minimum axial stiffness related to the API 618 force limits for piping and PSDs. This minimum stiffness is no longer applied by default when no explicit axial stiffness has been specified and when applying the allowable limits from the API 618 6th edition. In other words, you must explicitly specify the minimum axial stiffness when using the allowable force limits from the API 618 6th edition.

Other changes involve the replacement of the “PSD Pulsation Check” field associated with the API 618 analysis type by a user-specified allowable limit definition, and support for applying (custom) allowable force limits according to the API 688 2nd edition for both pump and compressor systems.
