BOSpulse 5.2 Support For Importing Ariel Compressor Data

The BOSpulse 5.2 release adds a new Ariel Compressor assembly type that enables you to import a compressor configuration, including the (pressure) boundary conditions, fluid definitions, and operating cases, from an XML file generated by the Ariel Performance Program (Ariel7). The cylinders specified in the compressor configuration are represented by reciprocating compressor elements in the corresponding BOSpulse assembly. The packages and (operating) cases defined in the compressor configuration are represented by scenarios.

The Ariel Compressor assembly type can bring you significant time savings when setting up a model of a compressor system, especially if you need to account for multiple operating cases. At the same time, it significantly reduces the scope for errors as all compressor-related data and automated procedures translate gas properties from the Ariel XML file to the BOSpulse model.

Adding the Ariel compressor import interface as an assembly type makes it possible to implement further enhancements in the future. One such enhancement concerns the ability to update a compressor configuration after it has been imported for the first time. You can expect more work in this area in future releases.
