BOSpulse 5.2 Support For Custom Allowable Limits

BOSpulse has, for some time, provided limited support for specifying alternative allowable limits for pressure pulsations. The BOSpulse 5.2 release takes this support to the next level by enabling you to specify custom limits for all allowable limits that are defined in the API 618 and API 674 standards. Those custom limits can be applied to an analysis, but also to individual pipe elements, flange nodes, and pulsation suppression devices.

All allowable limits, including the limits specified by the API 618 and API 674 standards, are now implemented as user-defined functions that are stored in the components database. You can add your own allowable limits to the database and apply them in an API analysis. Using a preview window you can evaluate an allowable limit in a graphical way and verify that the underlying user-defined function is correct.

By implementing the allowable limits as user-defined functions you are not limited to a fixed collection of functions. Indeed, you can implement any mathematical expression involving a collection of input parameters, including the frequency, pipe diameter, wave speed, restraint information, and more. Consequently, there is no need to apply your own post-processing scripts and spreadsheets in order to evaluate any limits that are not defined by the API standards.
