BOSpulse 3.0 released

DRG releases BOSpulse 3.0

Zoetermeer, April 2017DRG is pleased to announce the release of BOSpulse 3.0, our advanced software tool for pulsation analyses and API 618 and API 674 vibration checks. This major new release of our software includes vastly improved reporting feature. Built-in API 618 shaking force assessment and a new harmonic solver in addition to the existing time domain solver.

Main improvements include:

  • Quickscan of your system with a new harmonic solver:
A completely new harmonic solution method has been added to BOSpulse 3.0 in addition to the existing time domain solver. The harmonic solution method works in the frequency domain and is orders of magnitude faster than the time domain solution method. Although it well known that the harmonic solution method is less accurate than the time domain solution method when the pulsation amplitudes are large. It is ideal for a quick scan of a model to identify problematic pipeline sections and frequencies.
  • API 618 DA 3 shaking force assessment has been added:
The API 618 shaking force assessment (step M6 of an API 618 Design Approach Study (DA3)) has been added to BOSpulse. Users can now conduct this shaking force assessment instead of a forced mechanical response study using another software package.
  • Easy to use fully customizable reporting:
The reporting interface has been revised so that the user can tailor the reporting layout to their requirements. The user may select which harmonics, elements and/or compressor speeds to display in any combination they should desire. These preferences may be saved for later use on future projects.
  • Improved user experience based on client feedback:
The API 618 assessment user interface for pulsation bottles and pressure drops has been simplified. The graphical display of the pulsation amplitudes compared to the API 618 and API 674 limits has been improved and can be more easily accessed by the user.
  • Accessing your results faster:
BOSpulse runs multi-core with multiple scenarios running on multiple processor cores. It is now also possible to view results for a scenario while another scenario is still being processed, thereby reducing the time spent waiting for results.
  • New external file interfaces:
Support has been added for importing pipeline models from Piping Component Files (PCF) and from comma-separated (CSV) text files. The former can be created by various CAD tools, and the latter can be created by spreadsheet programs and geographic information systems, among others. The PCF interface can process a thousand input files in a matter of seconds and performs a number of model optimizations and corrections along the way.
  • Improvements to the Caesar II neutral file interface:
Support for Caesar version 9; non-pipe elements get the same diameter and thickness as the adjacent pipe elements when exporting to a neutral file; and improved handling of “cnodes” in Caesar II that are not connected to elements when importing from a neutral file. For more information, please contact: Wijnand Schoemakers Project Engineer+31 85 058 00 46www.bospulse.com
