This new BOSfluids release brings support for a wider range of liquids, including slurries, other non-Newtonian liquids, and liquids containing drag reducing agents. When defining a liquid, you can now choose between four viscosity models: Newton, Power Law, Bingham Plastic, or Herschel-Bulkley. All these models are supported in all types of analyses. A new curve fit window enables you to determine the selected viscosity model parameters from measurement data.

The effect of drag reducing agents can now be simulated with greater accuracy as you can specify the reduction factor both as a single value and as a piece-wise linear function of the Reynolds number. The latter option allows you to implement more sophisticated friction models than the Darcy-Weisbach model.

The structural solver interface has been extended so that it is possible to apply the shaking forces obtained by means of flow-induced pulsation analyses. This means that you can perform a structural response analyses right from within BOSpulse, provided that you have a compatible ANSYS license.
