BOSfluids 8.1 Support for AIV assessments

BOSfluids 8.1 extends the Steady State analysis type with support for performing Acoustic Induced Vibration (AIV) assessments according to the Energy Institute or NORSOK guidelines. The detailed results of an assessment are saved to a new standard report named “Acoustic Fatigue Assessment”.

BOSfluids also adds two new data sets named “Sound Power Level” and “Likelihood of Failure”. The former represents the strength of the sound in pipes downstream of pressure reduction devices. The latter shows the likelihood of failure (according to the Energy Institute guidelines) at a specified set of nodes with structural discontinuities, such as small bore connections, welded tees, or welded ” supports.

BOSfluids 8.1 AIV results

By using the new AIV capabilities of BOSfluids, you can avoid performing AIV assessments by means of cumbersome and error-prone calculation sheets. With BOSfluids the entire assessment is performed automatically once you have set up the piping model.
