Although BOSfluids already provided very good support for importing models from Piping Component Files (PCFs), the new release has even become better in this respect. In particular, BOSfluids now recognizes a wider variety of components in a PCF by interpreting the so-called SKEY tags. This means that importing models is now even more accurate and that you are less likely to have to make manual changes afterwards.
By making use of a very fast file processor and spatial search algorithm, the PCF import interface can easily handle models comprising a large number of PCFs. Indeed, the import interface can process thousands of PCFs within seconds and create accurate 3-D models of complex piping systems.
The PCF import interface does not only import piping components but also piping supports. This can save a lot of time when performing coupled flow-structure analyses in order to assess the impact of flow-induced forces on the structural behavior of the system.
As an increasing number of CAD and piping applications support exporting models to PCFs, you can save a significant amount of time by making use of the excellent PCF support in BOSfluids.
